FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY, SCHOOL OF THEATRE has the following openings at this time:

HEAD OF THEATRE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM/DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS

The School of Theatre at Florida State University is seeking a creative and dynamic individual to head the MFA in Theatre Management program as well as direct its marketing and communication efforts. This is a twelve-month faculty position. As head of the Theatre Management Program, this position will serve as the major professor for the degree in addition to being responsible for recruitment and advising. As The Director of Marketing and Communications, the candidate will be charged with the creation and development of a public profile for the school, oversight of the communications area including media relations, promotion of the school, advertising, branding, website and graphic design. The successful candidate will possess a Masters and five years of experience in marketing and public relations for the arts. Additionally, demonstrated excellence in teaching, effective communication, organization, planning and leadership is expected. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to excel when handling multiple priorities under deadline pressure. Florida State University is an AA/EEO employer.

MARKETING AND COMMUNICATION MANAGER

The School of Theatre at Florida State University is seeking a creative individual to manage its marketing, web and graphic design efforts. This is a twelve-month staff position. As the Marketing and Communication Manager, the candidate will be working closely with the Director of Marketing and Communication to handle the day to day creation and implementation of media relations, promotion of the School, advertising, branding, website and graphic design. This will include the maintenance of the public profile for the School through media and direct contact. The successful candidate will be responsible for mentoring and assisting graduate students in the operation of all aspects of the Marketing Office and evaluating their progress. The Manager is responsible for reconciling invoices and billings related to the operations of the marketing office and the development of the marketing and communication budget. The successful candidate will possess at least a Bachelors and a minimum of two years marketing and graphic arts experience. Demonstrated mastery of Photoshop and InDesign will be expected. Additionally, demonstrated success in teaching and mentoring students in the development of graphic design skills, effective communication, organization and planning and is expected.
