Recent Graduate News:
Showcase 2008 Update
There was a large turnout of industry representatives for the Showcases in both New York and Los Angeles. These included such agencies as:
- SONY Pictures & Television
- CBS Paramount Television
- Warner Bros. Television
- Binder Casting
- Tara Rubin Casting
- Bret Adams Ltd.
As a result of the Showcases, our students received over 260 requests for photos and resumes and 43 requests for interviews.
Following the Showcases:
Viveka Chandrasekaran and Sarah Claire Smith will be performing in the Charleston Stage Company’s upcoming production of West Side Story. Viveka will be performing as Maria and Sarah Claire as Anita.
Natalie Caruncho and Michael Stablein performed together in the Blue Ridge Summer Theatre Festival’s production of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
Leslie Flesner performed in the North Shore Music Theatre’s performance of The Producers.
Alumni Updates
On Broadway
Ashley Arcement (BFA Music Theatre, 2005) is in Grease on Broadway as a swing.
Joey Haro and Summer Broyhill (BM Music Theatre, 2006) are currently performing in Hairspray. In addition, Joey was just cast in the Broadway Revival of West Side Story. His final audition was in front of Stephen Sondheim and Arthur Laurents. Rehearsals begin at the end of October.
Christian Delcroix and Mike Evariste (both 2002 Music Theatre graduates) are currently performing in the revival of South Pacific.
Montego Glover and Kevin Covert are currently at the La Jolla Playhouse performing in the new musical Memphis which is likely headed to Broadway soon.
Jessica Patty (BFA Music Theatre, 2001) has started rehearsals on the new musical 9 to 5 along with fellow alum, Chris Zaccardi, who will serve as stage manager for the production.
Television/Film
John Papsidera (1983) was the Casting Director for the summer blockbuster THE DARK KNIGHT.
John Brace (1984) is the casting director behind GREY’S ANATOMY, PRIVATE PRACTICE, and FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS.
Suzanne Friedline (BFA Acting, 1991) will appear in an upcoming episode of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES where she will play radio talk show host, Linda Flanagan. The episode is scheduled to air on October 5th.
Randy Ser (BA 1975, MFA 1977) is the production designer for the NBC hit, MY NAME IS EARL.
Valerie (Ramirez) Cruz (BFA Acting, 1997) has been nominated for an ALMA for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Lt. Connie Murphy in THE DRESDEN FILES. Valerie can be seen in the 3rd season of DEXTER as Jimmy Smits’ wife.
Additional Updates
Nick Ciavarella (BFA Acting, 2007) recently completed the Graduate Acting Program at the Central School in London. He will be performing with The Factory in Hamlet on The Globe Stage on September 6, 2008.
Emily Fletcher (BFA Music Theatre, 2001) is currently performing as Sheila in the national tour of A Chorus Line.
Elizabeth Stacey (BFA Music Theatre, 2006) was cast in Oklahoma! at Papermill Playhouse.
Nikka Wahl (BFA Music Theatre, 2007) and Ryan Lingle (BFA Music Theatre, 2007) are performing on a Scandinavian cruise ship and seeing the world.
Becky Watson (BFA Music Theatre, 1989) will be performing as Cassius in Portland Stage’s Julius Caesar.
